Four runs crossed in the fourth — Luke Keaschall's RBI single, Tristan Gray's two-run single, and Alex Jackson's RBI single — and Davis Martin did not survive the inning. Martin gave up ten hits and six earned in 4.2 innings. Connor Prielipp allowed four earned in six innings and still got the win, because the lead his offense handed him held. Miguel Vargas had driven in two in the third to give Chicago a 3-1 lead, and Brooks Lee's sacrifice fly had been the first Minnesota run. Chicago left nine on base. Yoendrys Gómez needed fifteen pitches to record the final four outs.
