Kyle Manzardo and Jazz Chisholm Jr. each homered in the second, José Ramírez homered in the sixth, and Rhys Hoskins hit a two-run shot off Gerrit Cole in the fourth on an 89.7 mph slider at 1-0. Hoskins singled home Ramírez in the eighth to put Cleveland ahead for good — Cole went 5.1 innings, six hits, four earned runs, two strikeouts on 83 pitches. Cody Bellinger's sacrifice fly in the ninth brought New York within one, but Cade Smith got the final out on eleven pitches.
