Nathan Eovaldi carried a lead into the 6th, and then the inning unraveled. Maikel Garcia tripled on a 94.5 mph fastball to tie it, Vinnie Pasquantino doubled home the go-ahead run, and Jac Caglianone — who had already homered in the 5th — hit his second of the night, a two-run shot to right center. Caglianone drove in three runs on two swings, and both left the yard. Stephen Kolek gave the Royals five innings of two-run ball and handed the lead to Steven Cruz, who struck out two in 1.1 innings without allowing a baserunner. Alex Lange walked one and struck out two for the save. Texas left 7 on base and never got the lead back after the 6th.
