The third inning is where it turned. Woo gave up a Colton Cowser home run, an Adley Rutschman two-run double, and a Pete Alonso home run that left at 110.6 mph and traveled 439 feet — five runs in the frame. Seattle answered with two home runs in the fourth and still never pulled even, because Tyler Wells came out of the Baltimore bullpen and threw three no-hit innings with four strikeouts. The Mariners left eight men on base. Andrew Kittredge needed six pitches to close the ninth, all of them strikes.
