Spencer Strider threw 68 pitches, recorded nine outs, and left with seven earned runs on his line — five of them driven in by Bo Bichette, who homered in the first and hit a grand slam in the second. Juan Soto matched the first home run, but the Mets never trailed after the second. JR Ritchie gave Atlanta five scoreless innings in relief and kept the game within reach, but Devin Williams entered with two on in the eighth and recorded the last five outs, two by strikeout, for the save.
