The lead had changed twice before the fifth, and then Chicago scored seven and it was over. Sasaki threw 91 pitches in 4.1 innings — seven hits, three walks, seven earned — and Tristan Peters tripled home two, Chase Meidroth singled in two more, and Braden Montgomery walked with the bases loaded. Anthony Kay, on the other side, struck out seven in five innings and gave up two runs on four hits; Jonathan Hernández walked four in two innings without allowing a hit — 46 pitches, 22 strikes — and Los Angeles did not score in either inning. Four hits and five left on base, and two runs was everything that came of it.
