Washington scored three times in the first — a single, a triple, and another single — and when Colt Emerson's two-run homer tied it in the fifth, Luis García Jr. answered two batters later with a two-run shot of his own. José A. Ferrer gave up three earned runs in one-third of an inning, and the García home run was the blow. Seattle left eight on base and committed two errors. Cade Cavalli gave up three earned in five innings and struck out five for the win.
