Paul Goldschmidt hit two solo home runs off Tarik Skubal — one on a 95.7 mph fastball in the first, one on an 80 mph curveball in the third — and that was half of Skubal's damage in six innings of work. The other half was Jasson Domínguez's two-run homer in the sixth, which turned a 2-2 tie into the final margin. Detroit put eight hits together and left nine on base. Ryan Weathers gave up two runs, one earned, over six and picked up a win that Skubal's nine strikeouts could not match.
