Josh Lowe's grand slam in the second inning was the game. A 1-2 cutter at 89.4 mph, four runs on one swing — Grissom, Meckler, and Peraza all aboard — and the Angels led 4-0 before the Athletics had settled in. Sam Aldegheri gave Los Angeles five innings of one-run ball for the win. The Athletics scored once, on Joey Meneses's sacrifice fly in the fifth. Nick Kurtz hit the hardest ball of the night, 109.9 mph off the bat. It traveled 318 feet and was caught.
