Dansby Swanson hit two home runs — a solo shot in the second and a three-run blast in the third — and by then Walker Buehler had already given up nine earned in four innings. Kyle Hart followed with six runs in two frames, and Rodolfo Durán took the last two innings: eight earned on seven hits. Chicago left two men on base all night, Colin Rea went five for the win, and Jordan Wicks threw three innings to save it. Seiya Suzuki's three-run homer in the first was the opening note, and nothing got quieter from there.
