Jared Jones struck out nine over five innings and allowed one run on three hits, and the Pirates won going away. Jacob Gonzalez put a sweeper into the right-field seats in the 2nd — 428 feet — to make it 2-0, and Travis Bazzana tripled in the 3rd for his second three-bagger of the season. Gavin Williams took the loss despite eleven strikeouts in six innings, because the five earned runs he allowed were five more than Jones gave up. Carmen Mlodzinski covered three clean innings in relief, and Esmerlyn Valdez and Nick Gonzales went back-to-back in the 6th to put it away.
