Nine innings, 102 pitches, no walks — Yamamoto finished what he started, and the Yankees could not solve him. They managed four hits all night, and one of them was Trent Grisham's solo home run in the fourth. The Dodgers broke it open in the eighth, when Jake Bird faced six hitters, gave up four hits and two walks, and left with five earned to his name. Shohei Ohtani's double in the third left the bat at 111.1 mph and scored the first run.
