Hunter Brown threw 90 pitches across seven innings, and the two hits he allowed did not produce a run. The game was scoreless until the sixth, when Isaac Paredes singled on an 86.6 mph slider and brought home three — Cam Smith, Jeremy Peña, and Yordan Alvarez — because Braden Montgomery bobbled the ball in right field and let Paredes take third. Sean Burke struck out ten in six innings and still lost. He allowed the two runs that mattered before the error turned the inning into something worse. Paredes added another RBI single in the eighth. Colson Montgomery's single in the ninth was the only run Chicago scored, and it came after the game was already decided.
