San Diego left eleven men on base and still won, because Mason Miller struck out the side in the ninth on eleven pitches and Colorado's fourth error of the night let the winning run cross. Jimmy Herget faced three batters — walk, single, walk — and the run was unearned, which is the receipt for four errors in a one-run loss. Mickey Moniak's two-run homer in the third had put the Rockies ahead, and Fernando Tatis Jr. drove in two on a pair of singles. Michael King struck out six over six innings and did not get the decision, and the Padres collected sixteen hits to score eight.
