Eduardo Valencia hit 112.4 mph on a double to left in the fourth inning and added another in the eighth, driving in four runs across the two at-bats. Spencer Torkelson's two-run double in the first gave Keider Montero all the support he needed, and Montero threw six innings of two-hit, shutout ball. Gage Jump walked six in 3.2 innings and took the loss. The Athletics had seven hits and left nine on.
