Jackson Chourio homered on a 97.5 mph fastball in the third and singled in the go-ahead run an inning later. Logan Henderson struck out eight over six innings, and the Brewers needed him sharp because Pittsburgh kept answering. Jacob Gonzalez went deep in the third and Chourio matched him that same inning — his fourteenth. Andrew Vaughn put Milwaukee ahead in the fourth and Chourio's RBI single was the one that held it. Jared Jones threw 83 pitches in four innings, which is the line of a starter who could not buy a quick frame. Endy Rodríguez homered in the ninth for Pittsburgh, and Trevor Megill needed ten pitches to finish it.
