Tyler Mahle and Max Fried traded zeroes for fourteen combined innings — Mahle struck out nine in six, Fried punched out seven in 6.1 — and the night belonged to the bullpens. Raisel Iglesias entered the ninth with a one-run lead and left with a one-run deficit after Austin Wells doubled and Ben Rice singled him home. Matt Olson's thirty-third home run, a 109.8 mph line drive to center, had given Atlanta its first run in the ninth. Ryan McMahon's sacrifice fly to right in the tenth scored Luis García Jr., and that was the ballgame.
