The Marlins had four runs before Sandy Alcantara had thrown his 50th pitch. Xavier Edwards doubled in two in the third and singled in another in the fifth — both to the same left fielder — and Walbert Ureña lasted two and a third, walked three, and left with men on base that Brett Kerry inherited and couldn't hold. Alcantara gave up three hits in seven innings, struck out eight, and walked one. Griffin Conine singled at 107.6 mph in the fifth and drove in a run. Pete Fairbanks struck out the side in the ninth to finish it.
