Ronny Simon's first double of the season brought two home in the first — a ground ball to left that capped a four-run inning before Stock had recorded his second out. Stock threw 80 pitches, gave up nine hits, and left trailing 8-0 after three. Bubba Chandler worked six innings of three-hit ball, struck out five, and walked one. Pittsburgh stranded twelve and still scored nine, which tells you what the at-bats looked like when they didn't score. Xzavion Curry threw three innings of one-hit relief behind Stock and struck out four, and the game still ended in the ninth with New York down nine.
