Merrill Kelly threw 71 pitches in five innings, only 42 for strikes, and the Rockies made him pay. Brett Sullivan's three-run homer in the second was the swing that put Colorado ahead, a fly ball that left the bat at 105.5 mph and traveled 402 feet. Veen's two-run shot in the fourth was his first of the year, stretching the lead to five. Ryan Feltner gave the Rockies five innings of two-run ball, and the bullpen held even as Arizona put 11 hits together and left 15 on base. Corbin Carroll's solo homer in the eighth was the final run, and Jordan Romano closed it out.
