Victor Bericoto's RBI single in the first was the only run the Giants scored all night, and it held until the seventh. Adrian Houser pitched six innings of two-hit, shutout ball — five strikeouts, one walk, 73 pitches — and left with a 1-0 lead. Sam Hentges gave up the tying run in the seventh on Nelson Velázquez's sacrifice fly, which left the bat at 108.7 mph. Keaton Winn took the loss when Nick Allen's sac fly scored Taylor Trammell in the eighth. The Giants left nine on base. Josh Hader needed eight pitches for the save, six for strikes.
