Mahle struck out seven across six innings, allowed four hits, and the only run he gave up was Luis Torrens going yard to right center in the sixth. Zac Thornton pitched six innings for the Mets and allowed three runs, but the seventh belonged to Dedniel Núñez — three hits and three runs in a third of an inning, and the lead was gone. Austin Riley's home run in that seventh left the bat at 108.5 mph, a no-doubter to left center. Drake Baldwin followed with an RBI single, and Bo Bichette added a solo shot in the ninth. The Mets never led.
