Matt Olson hit a 437-foot home run to center field with two on in the seventh — his 36th of the year — and turned a 2-2 tie into 5-2, more than Arizona could overcome. Ildemaro Vargas had homered to right earlier in the same inning to tie it for the Diamondbacks, but Olson's three-run shot was the answer. Bryce Elder gave Atlanta six innings of one-run ball and struck out five. Didier Fuentes got the win in relief despite giving up the Vargas homer. Michael Soroka pitched 5.2 innings for Arizona with two earned runs and five strikeouts, but Taylor Clarke took the loss. Raisel Iglesias allowed a run in the ninth on Tim Tawa's RBI groundout but finished it.
