Edward Cabrera could not finish the fourth, and by the time he left, St. Louis had turned a one-run lead into a laugher. Cabrera gave up seven earned runs on six hits and three walks in 3.2 innings, and the inning that broke him was the fourth — Wetherholt worked a bases-loaded walk, Herrera's sacrifice fly scored another, Burleson lined a two-run single, and Jordan Walker followed with a two-run homer to center. Burleson had already homered in the first, a two-run shot, and he drove in four on the night. Hunter Dobbins walked four in five innings but struck out seven and never let Chicago closer than two. The Cardinals finished with 13 hits and left seven on base.
