Bennett Sousa gave up two hits, a walk, and three earned runs in one-third of an inning — 12 pitches, and the lead Houston had just built was gone. Jacob Lopez left after six innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts, and the lead he handed the bullpen lasted until Daulton Varsho homered and Jeremy Peña singled in the seventh. Elvis Alvarado struck out two in a clean ninth, and a 4-3 lead that had changed hands three times was the one that held.
