Henry Bolte homered twice — a two-run blast in the third on a 3-1 fastball and another in the fourth, also with a man on — and both came after Texas had taken an early lead on solo homers from Ezequiel Duran and Justin Foscue. Cody Bradford gave up five earned in four innings, and Robby Ahlstrom gave up three more in the fifth, including Alika Williams's two-run homer. Jacob Lopez went six innings, struck out seven, and walked two. The Rangers' two home runs were both solo shots, and three of the Athletics' four came with a runner on base.
