Andrew Sears got two outs — 37 pitches, 19 strikes, six runs, three walks, none earned. Colson Montgomery's three-run double came off the bat at 93.6 mph, and Chicago led 6-1. That should have been the game. Drew Sommers came out of the bullpen and threw two innings — five strikeouts, no hits, no walks, twenty-two pitches — and the Tigers kept climbing. Kevin McGonigle's triple in the fifth cleared the bases, and Hao-Yu Lee's tenth home run left the bat at 108.9 mph in the eighth, the inning Detroit took the lead for good.
