Ten earned runs in two and two-thirds innings is what Jacob Lopez's line says, and it took sixty-three pitches to get there. Chase DeLauter's three-run homer in the first came on a 74.9 mph slider at 1-0, and Angel Martínez followed with a two-run shot — five runs before the Athletics had recorded three outs. The third inning was worse: five more on four hits, and David Fry's two-run double was the ball that made it 10-2. Tanner Bibee got the win despite giving up six earned in four and two-thirds, because the Guardians had scored twelve runs before he threw his last pitch.
