For five innings Matt Wilkinson matched Sheehan zero for zero — five shutout frames, six strikeouts — and Victor Bericoto's first-inning single held up as the only run. Tommy Edman led off the 6th with a home run to right, and the Giants never scored again. Enrique Hernández doubled home Max Muncy in the 7th, and Muncy singled in another in the 8th. San Francisco finished with two hits; Sheehan struck out nine in five and a third and left with a no-decision.
