CJ Abrams went deep off Drew Anderson twice — solo in the second, two-run in the seventh — and three swings produced all of Washington's offense. Detroit matched the Nationals with seven hits and left 11 on base, unable to find the ball that scores the way Abrams's did. Anderson threw 54 strikes among 71 pitches, walked nobody across six innings, and lost to two swings from the same shortstop.
