Seven scoreless innings. David Peterson threw five of them for Chicago, three hits, six strikeouts. Brayan Bello threw four for Boston, four hits, no runs. The game turned on one swing in the 8th. Javier Assad had thrown two and a third of no-hit relief when Ryan Rolison came in and gave up Abreu's 38th double, a sharp fly ball to center that scored Kiner-Falefa and Jones. Jedixson Paez threw the final five innings for Boston, three hits, five strikeouts, and got the win. The Cubs had seven hits and did not score.
