deGrom threw 89 pitches and lasted four innings. Eight earned. The second inning alone put six on the board — Kreidler's bunt single, Keaschall's triple to right, Lewis's two-run single — and turned a 2-0 Texas lead into a 6-2 hole. He struck out five and walked three, and every one of those 58 strikes cost something. Joe Ryan went six innings with eight strikeouts for the win. Clemens hit his 27th in the 6th, a two-run shot to left center. Minnesota never batted in the 9th.
