The Youngest

When Brice Turang was eight, he would beg his father to let him scrimmage with his older sisters' travel softball team — 14-year-olds who already knew the game. Brian Turang had played for the Mariners. Carrie Turang had played softball at Long Beach State and reached the Women's College World Series. Their four daughters — Brianna, Carissa, Cabria, and Bailee — all competed in college athletics across softball, soccer, and volleyball. Brice was the youngest, born November 21, 1999, and he insisted on playing anyway.

He held his own against the older girls. The Milwaukee Brewers selected him 21st overall in the 2018 draft out of Santiago High School in Corona, California. He signed for $3.411 million instead of attending LSU.

Second Base, Milwaukee

Turang debuted on March 30, 2023, and has spent every season since with the Brewers. Across 563 games he has hit .260 with a .333 on-base percentage, 47 home runs, 89 doubles, and 116 stolen bases. In 2024 he won the National League Gold Glove and the Platinum Glove at second base. The Brewers named him their MVP the following year. During the World Baseball Classic he sought out Aaron Judge to ask detailed questions about the Yankees' preparation methods, wanting to bring ideas back to Milwaukee. Judge has called Turang one of his favorite players to watch.

Away from the field, Turang bowls — he takes an analytical approach to oil patterns and carries an average around 150 with a high game near 190.

The Count

On July 25, 2026, Turang collected his 500th career hit. He is 26 years old, in his fourth major-league season, playing second base for the Milwaukee Brewers.
