Chase Meidroth's leadoff home run in the first gave Chicago a brief lead, and then William Contreras's three-run double in the second — on a 90.5 mph changeup at 2-2 — started a sequence that would produce twelve unanswered runs. Jacob Misiorowski struck out eleven over five innings, allowing two hits, and the Brewers' lineup kept going: Sal Frelick and Jake Bauers each hit their first home runs of the season, and Munetaka Murakami added his. The White Sox used six pitchers, five of whom allowed earned runs, and the 14-2 final is a line that does not exaggerate what happened.
