Sandy Alcantara threw 73 pitches in seven innings — fewer than eleven per frame — and the one run Colorado scored was unearned, the result of an error followed by Jordan Beck's fourth-inning single. Kyle Freeland matched zeroes until the second, when Owen Caissie doubled home Xavier Edwards on a 1-2 knuckle curve and Javier Sanoja followed with a single on another 1-2 knuckle curve to score Caissie. Two swings, two runs, and the score never changed. The Rockies left six on base and never got the tying run home, and Pete Fairbanks needed twelve pitches — eleven strikes — to finish the ninth.
