Michael King had walked four in five innings but left with a 2-1 lead because his one run allowed was unearned. The game turned in the eighth, when Jeremiah Estrada entered and threw 27 pitches — three walks, one single, two strikeouts, and four runs on his line. Riley Greene's single started it, Kevin McGonigle's two-run single off Wandy Peralta broke it open, and Dillon Dingler's single was the last. Kenley Jansen struck out the side on eleven pitches in the ninth.
