Colorado scored three times in the 1st and not again, and the Rockies left seven on base across the next eight innings while managing three more hits. Jordan Beck's three-run double accounted for every run they scored. Max Meyer settled in after the 1st and struck out five across five innings, and Antonio Senzatela threw 2.2 innings of one-hit relief to get the game to Victor Vodnik. Vodnik gave up three hits in the 9th, the last of them Owen Caissie's first home run of the season on a 93.8 mph changeup at 1-0. The ball went 394 feet to right center. The two innings before it were the work that made the loss hurt.
