Seth Lugo threw 77 pitches across 6.1 innings and didn't walk a batter, and the Braves managed seven hits that produced one run — Drake Baldwin's solo homer in the 8th off John Schreiber. None of the other six scored. Carter Jensen's first home run of the season, on a 94.8 mph fastball at 3-1, gave Kansas City its first run in the 4th, and Bobby Witt Jr.'s RBI single an inning earlier had already put them ahead. Vinnie Pasquantino added an RBI single in the 5th, and Jensen's sacrifice fly in the 8th provided the fourth. Lucas Erceg needed twelve pitches to close the 9th. Lugo's 77 were the reason four runs were enough.
