Juan Soto's first home run of the year came on a 93.6 mph fastball in the sixth, traveled 344 feet to right field, and was the only run New York scored. Nolan Gorman's line-drive single tied it in the same inning, and the next run did not cross until Masyn Winn's pop-up to second base fell in during the eleventh and brought JJ Wetherholt home. Matthew Liberatore threw six innings of one-run ball on 76 pitches and Freddy Peralta gave the Mets five and a third of the same, and then the bullpens traded zeros. New York left ten men on base in an eleven-inning one-run loss.
