Christian Yelich led off the game with a triple to left on a 3-2 fastball and scored when Gary Sánchez sent a 91.7 mph four-seamer 414 feet to left-center. That was the first inning, and Milwaukee never trailed. Kyle Harrison left after 5.1 innings with a 4-2 lead, and Kansas City closed it to one on Maikel Garcia's RBI single and Vinnie Pasquantino's two-run single in the seventh. William Contreras answered in the same inning with a two-run single of his own, and Jake Bauers doubled in the ninth to add the last run. Kris Bubic struck out eight in five innings for Kansas City and still gave up four earned. The Brewers left nine on base and won by three anyway.
