Brayan Bello threw 86 pitches to get ten outs and walked four — the kind of start that puts a bullpen to work before the middle innings. Milwaukee's four-run fourth began with Caleb Durbin's error at third and ended with Jake Bauers drawing a bases-loaded walk, but Boston answered with two in the same frame. Jovani Morán then gave the Red Sox three innings of one-hit relief, and that is the effort that should have been enough to hold a lead. Garrett Whitlock walked two men in the eighth and both scored, and Boston's two errors left nothing to spare in a game they lost by two.
