Imai recorded one out. He threw 37 pitches, walked four, and was charged with three runs before Steven Okert came in to finish the first. Christian Vázquez's three-run double in the second briefly gave Houston the lead, but Randy Arozarena — hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the first, then a two-run homer in the fifth for his first of the year — put Seattle back in front. Emerson Hancock gave the Mariners five innings and struck out five. Yordan Alvarez's three-run homer in the eighth off Cole Wilcox gave Houston life, and Andrés Muñoz walked two in the ninth but did not allow a run. The Astros' longest outing was J.P. France at two and two-thirds innings, and he gave up four.
