Ryan Jeffers hit a three-run homer in the first and Minnesota had a lead that lasted three innings. Toronto's fourth was the inning: five runs on four hits, capped by Brandon Valenzuela's two-run shot — the first homer of his season. Daulton Varsho added his first in the fifth, and by the sixth the Jays had ten. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doubled twice at 115.7 and 112.6 mph and scored once. Simeon Woods Richardson lasted four innings and 68 pitches. Patrick Corbin went four and gave up four, which was enough on a night Toronto scored in three consecutive frames.
