Bryce Elder gave up four hits in 5.2 innings, struck out seven, and left with a 2-0 lead the bullpen held until the eighth. Austin Riley's first home run of the season — 400 feet on an 89 mph fastball — stretched the lead to 3-0 in the sixth, and the Braves added three more in the seventh on Drake Baldwin's RBI single and Matt Olson's two-run homer. Liam Hicks hit a two-run homer in the eighth and Heriberto Hernández drove in a run on a fielder's choice, but that was all the closer Miami would get. Raisel Iglesias struck out the side on 12 pitches to end it, and the Marlins left nine on base.
