Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a two-run single at 105.2 mph off the bat, and that was the loudest contact of a four-run Padres second inning. Walker Buehler struck out seven over five innings and allowed two runs, both of which came in the sixth on singles by Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodríguez. Luis Castillo took the loss despite only one of his four runs being earned — an error in the second extended the inning before Tatis came up. Mason Miller struck out the side in the ninth on fourteen pitches.
