The diamond fills teal when the run scores; the out lands in the box of the runner it was made on. Names link to their pages at www.feverbaseball.com. New to the marks? Dillon Dingler doubled home the first run in the opening inning and then hit a three-run homer in the fifth, his fifth of the year, turning a one-run lead into 5-1. Garrett Crochet struck out eight in five innings for Boston but gave up five earned runs on seven hits, and the Dingler homer was the one that broke it open. Framber Valdez needed 98 pitches to get through six, but he allowed three hits and one run — Willson Contreras's fourth homer of the season in the first — and Detroit's bullpen handled the rest. Jahmai Jones's first home run of the year had given Detroit the lead back in the fifth before Dingler's blast.
