Michael King threw 105 pitches to get through five innings, walked four, and did not allow a run — the Angels managed two hits all night and left eight on base. Xander Bogaerts put San Diego ahead with a fourth-inning single off a 100.9 mph sinker, and Bryce Johnson's seventh-inning single to left brought home the run that held up as the winner. The Angels got one back on a Zach Neto groundout in the same inning, but Mason Miller needed just 13 pitches to finish them. Walbert Ureña struck out eight in six innings for Los Angeles and still took the loss.
