Twelve of Dylan Cease's fifteen outs were strikeouts — 110 pitches for five innings, which is dominance that costs a starter everything he has by the fifth. Guerrero Jr. gave him the lead in the third, turning on an 82.7 mph changeup and sending it 430 feet to center at 107.5 mph off the bat. It was his second homer of the season, the one that held. Jeff Hoffman threw 17 pitches in the ninth, 12 for strikes, and struck out the side. The Angels left seven on base across six hits and never got a runner past second after the third.
