Four lead changes, and the last one belonged to Kansas City. Ryan Helsley came in for the ninth and could not hold a one-run lead — two walks, one out, and the loss. Coby Mayo's first home run of the season was a three-run shot in the second at 114.2 mph off the bat, the hardest contact of the night. Adley Rutschman answered with his first of the year in the eighth, a two-run shot that put Baltimore back ahead, and Michael Massey matched him with his first in the same inning. Lucas Erceg threw a clean ninth on fourteen pitches and got the win. Helsley's twenty-two pitches were the difference, and nine of them were strikes.
