Ozzie Albies drove in four runs on three swings — a sacrifice fly in the fourth, a two-run single in the seventh, and a home run in the ninth — and each one pushed the lead further from Washington's reach. JR Ritchie gave Atlanta seven innings, allowed five hits, struck out seven, and the Nationals did not score after the fourth. Cade Cavalli struck out ten in five innings for Washington, walked none, and still left trailing because Cionel Pérez got one out against four hitters in the seventh and was charged with three earned runs. Michael Harris II singled at 111.4 mph off the bat, then doubled at 109.4 mph an inning later. James Wood's tenth home run of the year came in the first and was the last run Washington scored.
